接続詞　when / if / because / that

① 文法のポイント

文と文をつなぐ接続詞を使うと、理由や条件、時を詳しく説明できます。 ・when「〜するとき」：Call me when you arrive. ・if「もし〜なら」：If it rains tomorrow, we can stay inside. ・because「〜だから」：I took a taxi because I was late. ・that「〜ということ」：I think that he is right.（think の後の that は会話でよく省かれます） 接続詞の節を文頭に置くときは、コンマ（,）で区切ります。 ※ よくある間違い：Because I was tired, so I slept. のように because と so を同時に使わないようにしましょう。

  • We stayed at the office until the rain stopped.

    雨がやむまでオフィスに残っていました。
